“Tribute”, “Clone”, “Recreation”, what ever your favorite term to describe a classic car that’s been used to upgrade a trim level, and/or performance enhancement will most always spark a conversation about correctness, precision, and certainly a plethora of opinions.
That’s okay, always a fun topic, and over the course of the last 15-20 years, these particular cars have gained positive traction (pun intended) in how they are finished, and present themselves.
This Lemans Convertible has really pulled out all the stops in its endeavor to be a GTO, and for that, I give it a lot of credit! I mean, this car has been painstakingly restored, and adorned with all of the correct GTO components that not only make it visually a GTO, but the engine and drivetrain will certainly back up any nay-sayers that may believe it wouldn’t perform as such. This GTO tribute drives magnificently, and performs excellent. Its engine and drivetrain is strong, and capable.
Start with a clean convertible body, add beautiful paint in just the right color, in this case keep the original color interior as it plays so well with the matching power convertible top. Full compliment of Rally gauges, 4-speed with console and correct “Performance” (vacuum) gauge, and add a very strong running 400 CID V8 topped with the requisite Tri-power, all tuned, clean, and ready for any sort of nostalgia car show, cruise in, cruising the boulevard, hangin’ around the shop and talking about cars, and car experiences of the past.
Make no mistake, this convertible Muscle car has all of the characteristics of the high performance cars produced throughout the 1960’s that helped set the tone for the wave of high performance cars we’re enjoying today. It would be difficult to find a nicer one, and you can bet it will make its new owner very proud, and thankful to own such a high performance piece of Americana.  Beautiful car with binder full of restoration receipts and documents!!
