This is an American Icon, the 1956 Ford Thunderbird sits among exclusive company in the Collector car world. It's one of those cars that was cool the day it rolled out of the factory in Dearborn. It didn't slowly make a climb to collector car status, it was born with collector car status. Whether you have an interest in classic cars or not, or don't know the difference from one brand of car to the next, all of that doesn't matter...You know what this car is!
This particular T-Bird started life as a Raven black car, and remains so today with a repaint in base/coat, clear/coat. The interior color combination, has remained as it was originally as well, black and white from 1956.
A very nice feature that this T-Bird has, is both tops. Leave the hardtop on for those crisp fall and winter days, and use the soft white convertible top as necessary during spring and summer.
This particular T Bird starts and runs so easily and smoothly. The transmission shifts smooth as well. This is a very easy T Bird to drive. There is no rust in this T Bird, all interior components are in excellent condition, no rips or tears in any of the soft components. The headliner in the hard top is great, and both tops fit this car very nice and snug so there's no clunking around going on with either top.
The Raven black paint is nice, but is showing some wear, mostly from the garage I suspect. What's important to know about this T-Bird is that it is a very solid, good running and operating car that offers the versatility of having both tops, and it drives fantastic!
This T-bird has been in the same family since 1976, and has been garage kept since, and maintained very nicely. The engine has been rebuilt, and components have been restored along the way keeping this sweet little car driving so well throughout it's life. There isn't too many cars out there, classic or current that you can show up to a car show, cruise-in, wedding, graduation ceremony, etc, etc, etc. that is more recognizable than a classic Thunderbird! If you're gonna drive a classic car, you may as well drive an Icon.
