This is an American Icon, the first year of production the 1955 Ford Thunderbird sits among exclusive company in the Collector car world. It's one of those cars that was cool the day it rolled out of the factory in Dearborn. It didn't slowly make a climb to collector car status, it was born with collector car status. Whether you have an interest in classic cars or not, or don't know the difference from one brand of car to the next, all of that doesn't matter...You know what this car is!
This particular Thunderbird was treated to a “Frame-off” restoration some years ago, and has been used little since. During the restoration process, an upgraded power steering system was installed, and power brakes were installed. Both of these upgrades make this little T-bird a pleasure to drive, and as cool as this car looks just sitting in the garage, the point is to drive it...! Right?
The 292 V8 starts right up and runs very smoothly, and the transmission shifts very nicely too. The aftermarket steering wheel gives you a little more room in the driving position and that makes shifting quite a bit easier.
Take a look at the undercarriage of this T-bird and you'll be impressed with it cleanliness. As clean and nice as this T-bird is, you won't be afraid to drive and enjoy it. All operations and accessories on the T-bird work, so put the top up, or down, and just cruise.
This T-bird is just as happy cruisin' down the highway, the boulevard, or hanging out at a car show or Cruise-in.
If you have ever desired to have one of the “Baby Birds”, and you want one you can drive, this original Thunderbird Blue, restored with it's matching interior might just be your next trophy.
