If General Motor's Chevrolet Division had the technology in 1938, this just might be the '38 Cabriolet they would have produced. At first glance, this outstanding example of a 1938 Cabriolet appears as a fairly stock showroom condition convertible. Well, this appearance was executed on purpose. No odd graphics, no questionable wheel and tire combination, and no “Clowned-up” interior choices! This car was built with class in mind. All of the correct trim and bright-work was placed back on the car carefully, and the Continental kit on the rear, carrying the spare adds to the class of the '30's look. If you want to take a couple of passengers along, the Rumble seat is finished very neatly to complement the interior perfectly.
The Medium Cobalt blue paint is high-end, as is the entire build of this “all Metal”car. The vibrant red wheels, and wide white wall tires, look right at home, finishing off the correct look with the “Chevrolet” derby caps. Certainly an aspect not to be glossed over is the perfect stance that this car possesses. This is a very nice trait that sometimes gets overlooked, but not here. The drive train includes a very reliable, well performing Chevrolet Tuned Port Injection engine, smooth shifting 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission with it's floor-mounted Lokar shifter. Strong differential with easy driving highway gears, this car is ready and capable of driving anywhere, and winning the car show when it arrives!
The interior is very comfortable with it's clean, smooth leather seats, Easily controllable heat and A/C system, power windows, and bright, crisp instrument panel.
The convertible top is a canvas style, and as mentioned above, the visible top hardware from inside the cab is chrome and polished oak.
The undercarriage is clean and dry, and as you can see, contains the full dual exhaust system, power 4 wheel disc brakes, the tubular A-arm Mustang II style front suspension, and front and rear anti-roll bars.
This is a well planned, well executed, professional build, with comfort, style, and luxury in mind as well as performance and drive-ability...A vehicle to be proud to own!
